Reach titles have dominated a list of websites deemed the most trustworthy in the UK.
NewsGuard, a company which rates how trustworthy websites are, has published its findings for 2022. It includes a top 10 list of websites that were the most shared online which had a 100% score from users of NewsGuard. Reach titles have taken seven of the top 10 slots.
Sharing volume is an important metric, because it shows the impact a website can have on misinformation, or combatting misinformation.
To produce these lists, NewsGuard relied on its global ratings of more than 8,500 news and information sites, as well as engagement data provided by NewsWhip, a social media monitoring company.
NewsGuard awards websites a score from 0 to 100, depending on how many of NewsGuard’s nine credibility and transparency criteria (weighted in order of importance) the site meets.
