Reach plc, the UK’s largest national and regional commercial news publisher, has recently announced leadership changes. Piers North, formerly the Chief Revenue Officer (CRO), has been appointed as the new CEO. Additionally, Emma Callaghan has been promoted to the position of Chief Revenue Officer (Interim).

Piers North brings nearly 30 years of experience in digital media and online advertising to his new role as CEO. He began his career as a digital journalist before transitioning to commercial roles in the media industry. Prior to joining Reach in 2014 as Digital Strategy Director, Piers spent a decade at Yahoo in various digital strategy positions. In 2020, he was promoted to Chief Revenue Officer, overseeing all of the Group’s advertising and commercial revenues across print and digital platforms. His extensive experience in strategic digital transformation and revenue growth positions him well to lead Reach in its ongoing digital evolution.

Piers North said: “It’s a huge honour to lead Reach as we continue to serve essential journalism to our audiences and to move forward with our digital evolution. I look forward to working even more closely with all of the talented colleagues I have already been fortunate enough to work with over my 10 years here.”

Emma Callaghan, the newly appointed Chief Revenue Officer (Interim), has been with Reach since 2018, serving as the Executive Director of Advertising & Strategy. Emma’s leadership has been instrumental in driving growth and fostering innovation within the company’s commercial operations. Her step up to CRO reflects her significant contributions and the company’s commitment to nurturing internal talent.
